In 2012, Charles River Running opened its doors in Norwood Center. Owner Charlotte Walsh wanted her store to be a hub for all walkers & runners, complete with the very best in shoes, shoe-fitting, apparel & accessories. What she discovered along the way, is that her customers came to Charles River Running for more than just expert shoe fitting. They came for the community, connection & for the value of shopping where they live & work. Buying local is second nature for the customers of Charles River Running & Walsh does her best to give back to the community that keeps her doors open season after season.
We Recycle Your Shoes
Is your closet cluttered with worn-out kicks? Just tie the laces together and drop them off at Charles River Running. We’ll gladly send them to Sneaker Impact, who will give your shoes a new life in a developing country. Look for the large donation box in the back of the store and toss them in — it’s an easy way to help others and clear some space at home.

Yes, YOU can join a running group. Meet Thursday Strong; part run club, part social club, always 100% YOUR club. We’re a group of runners & walkers that are young & old-ish, slow & fast-ish male & female, who come together every Thursday rain or shine.
